It has no higher goal than its own experience, or collective experience with others. The Rockstar does not build or destroy anything systematically, intentionally...it just rocks out, which sometimes leads to creation, sometimes to destruction. But always, that is secondary to the rocking out itself. > >The Animal's need for wild freedom can often bring it into conflict with orderly systems, especially those of the Father, which can activate the desire to change things so it doesn't happen again — activating the Outlaw's Rebel aspect. So, in our society which is Father hyper-dominant, these two types can commonly be found alive in people together, especially children of the [[The Dark Mother|Dark Mama]], but they are fundamentally distinct. >[!help] Commonly Confused With: [[The Explorer]] >**Error:** [[Light|Light]] vs [[Dark|Dark]] mistyping. > >Both of these types are with [[Mother|Mama]][^1], but the Explorer is looking to explore the **Light** (the external world, lightness of feeling, relaxation), and the Animal looking to feel the Dark (the **internal** world, intensity of feeling, chaos). > >The Explorer is also more interested in breath of experience, a variety of things, the "Abundance" quality of the Light, like a cornucopia, and this manifests in seeking out new places to travel to, places to eat, new music, etc. Success for the explorer is the number of new entries in their travel log, stickers on their suitcase, stamps in their passport. > >The Animal is more interested in intense focus on certain things, or depth of experience, the "Scarcity" or "Intensity" quality of the Dark, which can manifest in going to the same restaurant or club, listening to the same song or album obsessively, wearing the same outfit, having a very specific visual style, taking the same substance over and over, or staying in the same location for long periods of time — all of which allow one to go deeper and deeper into that specific experience. Success for the Animal is complete immersion in something, shown in the instantly iconic battle scars, plaque-bearing seats at the bar, and earned motorcycle patches from repeated contact with a chosen niche. To elaborate, The Muse is closer to the Dark (West) than Mama (South), but is more Mama (South) than Papa (North), and the Innocent is closer to the Light (East) than Mama (South), but is more Mama (South) than Papa (North). The Explorer and the Animal are both more Mama (South) than anything else, but differ in what they want to FEEL (another way to say BE, what Mama is all about).
