# Dimensions : Home >[!info] >The Dimensions (or States in Integral Theory) are the simultaneously occurring realms of experience that humans can access by altering their state of consciousness. > >They exist on the Micro Level in the Human as "States or Tiers of Awareness" and on the Macro Level in the Universe as "Dimensions" or "Realms." > >Often called "[Planes of Existence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane_(esotericism))" in the myriad esoteric traditions of the world. > >[!important]+ >Unlike the [[Intelligences]] and Archetypes, the Dimensions / States, are [[Holarchy (Holons)|holarchies]], meaning each subsequent one transcends and includes the priors. Equally everything everywhere all at once. --- ## The 7 Macro Dimensions These are the big realms of the whole hierarchy of awareness we call the cosmos or Universe. 1. **1D · Unity** 2. **2D · Polarity** 3. **3D · Space** 4. **4D · Time** 5. **5D · Karma** 6. **6D · Realities** 7. **7D · Void** --- ## The 7 Micro Dimensions These are the tiers of awareness possible within the personal human being, all of them substages within the 3rd Dimension, hence the notation "3.(x)D." Below these are the 2nd Dimension and the 1st Dimension, and above them the 4th, 5th, 6th, & 7th, all of which do not contain space-bound personal experience in the same way, the hallmark of the 3rd Dimension which is Space.
