# 3.2D — Sensory Preferences
>[!info]
>Emerging initially with the 2nd Chakra in our Fish ancestor, when the Self is in this state of awareness, it is identified with the feeling of craving or aversion to the incoming sensory data.
This can be craving in the sense of desiring a sensation not currently being experienced, or for more of one that is present in awareness already. This applies for aversion as well, desiring the ceasing of a sensations currently being experienced, or for ones that could come in the future.
Here, the Self is identified with the desire as such. It is entirely fused with the preference. There is no "I" higher than the feeling of wanting more or wanting less of a certain experience that can be apprehended through the senses.
This is where pure, unrestricted desire lives within the mind. It is sometimes called **the Id** in Freudian systems. Because of its identification with desire, this state generates no morality higher than craving and aversion. It has no judgement, or larger societal consciousness. It simply wants what it craves and doesn't want what it is averse to. Thus, when the Self lives here it often results in the centering at Level 2, the Power drive, which focused on using strength to attain ones desires.
