People high in i3 see life as a puzzle, a problem to be solved. Every action has a proper time and place. At every moment, they usually have their mind set on a mission, and are interested in completing it as efficiently as possible - even just brushing their teeth. They tend to be quite focused on the objective itself and are more resistant to distractions than any other intelligence.
They get immense joy out of completing goals and checking items off a list. They tend to be pretty aware of what their goals are and how they are making progress towards them.
The feeling of productivity itself can often times be more interesting to them than the topic or field they are working in. Furthermore, the complexity, technicality and number of moving pieces in a task tend to be more impressive than its emotional impact or deeper significance.
They tend to enjoy mementos of a job well done, awards of excellence, badges of merit, etc more than any other intelligence.
They have a realistic outlook, focusing on what is known presently and working with that, instead of dreaming about what it might or could be.
# High i3 Weaknesses
- Overemphasis on control
- Needing predictability, avoiding uncertainty
- Resistance to a change of plans
- Impatience; Irritation if things are being done in a way considered inefficient
- Over-planning; Needing to know how everything will occur ahead of time
- Can become stressed when progress is not being made
- Perfectionism
- Workaholism, burnout
- Over-reliance on routines and plans
- Disregarding the emotions of others in focus on task alone
- Not questioning the meaning or importance of the work they are doing
- Desire to know progress at all times
- Risk-aversion
- Hyper-realistic to the point of lacking vision; Equating improbability with impossibility
While common, these behaviors are not a given or a lifelong curse by any means. They are increasingly common at the lower stages of Growing Up and Waking Up, in the cases of i3 fixations, when the other intelligences are underdeveloped or repressed, or when one's Father side is hyperdominant.
These weaknesses can be mitigated by developing to include more perspectives (growing up), identifying more and more with The Witness instead of impulses (waking up), by developing the other intelligences, and by strengthening one's relationship with Mama, who is perfectly content to just be, here, now.
# Low i3 Weaknesses
Low i3 tends to look like - or maybe is simply another way to reference the thing we call - ADHD.
- Lack of focus
- Procrastination
- Disorganization, messiness
- Poor time management
- Bad prioritization
- Impracticality
- Overwhelmed by complex tasks
- Difficulty sticking to routines
- Inefficiency, unproductiveness
- Inability to take charge of situation
- Starting but not finishing; Goal abandonment
- Misses details, sloppy execution
# Commonly Confused With
i3 is actually one of the intelligences that is quite easy to distinguish, as our society - especially in the education system and corporate world - prizes it highly.
However, it can still get confused with i1, due to their shared focus on activity, and i6, due to their logical and rational natures.
### Confusion with i1, Kinesthetic Intelligence
Here, the confusion is around the focus on tangibility and action. Both i1 and i3 are usually pretty interested in doing, visible outcomes, and productive activity in general. This would be in contrast to the "higher intelligences," which can communicate (i5), analyze (i6), and understand (i7) while not "doing" anything with the physical body.
However, i1 is interested in physical action and bodily movement, whereas i3 can be satisfied sending emails, writing roadmaps, and other non-bodily forms of task completion. i1 can also be considered more "unconscious" or "instinctual," whereas i3 tends to often involve more concentrated thinking, planning, and active mental effort - especially today.
### Confusion with i6, Symbolic Intelligence
Both i3 and i6 are logical and rational, thinking linearly. Today, they are also often seen together, like when solving multi-step math problems or working out complex engineering challenges.
However, despite this common marriage especially prevalent in our high-tech digital age, they are very distinct, and have historically been quite separate.
i3 on its own is only concerned with how to get things done, and the steps that need to be taken to do so. Alone, it tends to be quite grounded in the present reality of tangible action, and is quite resistant to heady, unmoored ideas.
i6, on the other hand, does not need any practical outcome at all to be satisfied. i6 is concerned with analysis, abstractions, and representations, and is happy to manipulate these without any tangible result in the world, like in the case of Theoretical Physics, Pure Mathematics, or philosophical inquires into the fundamental nature of reality.
A tangible example of this would be someone who is a great construction site manager having been being bad at calculus in school (high i3 low i6), or a physicist or philosopher having a highly disorganized workspace (high i6 low i3).
