They can be mitigated and regulated by development in those two areas, as well as improving the other intelligences to help balance them out. - Being perceived by others (especially those with low i5) as being inauthentic - this is due to the fact that low i5 people don't feel the need to express themselves constantly and often intuitively see those that do it as trying to prove something - Being perceived as overly dramatic, over-acted, or doing too much - Coming off as sales-y, or overly moved by things the other party is not - Not sharing true feelings in favor of playing for the scene - Making something seem worse or better than it actually is, overblowing things - Dominating social scenarios, sucking the air out of the room - Being overly talkative, or holding others' attention excessively - Always needing to say something, struggling with silence - Just deeply feeling an emotion or thought over expressing it instantly - Focusing more on the presentation than the content, hot air - Can become overly concerned on their appearance and social presentation - At lower levels of ego development, can struggle with true vulnerability as it is often messy and "unideal" from a communication standpoint # Low i5 Weaknesses - Presents as socially awkward - Imagining more is being communicated to the other than it actually is - the false notion that others can read their thoughts even when expressing very little outwardly - Mono-tone or static tone of voice, facial expression, robotic body language - Difficulty playing other archetypes, stays in a small band of expressive styles - Using vague language, not being specific, using general purpose words as opposed to topical ones - Having a small vocabulary, responding to everything with the same reaction ("that's crazy") - Struggling to make others feel one is engaged in them - Having a weak voice, struggling to maintain others' interest in what they are expressing - Mumbling or speaking at incorrect volume - Misreading social queues, missing social dynamics, interrupting - Has a hard time structuring social fields, building quick connections, making others open up - Unaware of how something they said or expressed may be interpreted by others - Difficulty at "seeing themselves" socially, imagining themselves as more charismatic than they are perceived as, having a hard time understanding why others are not resonating with them # Commonly Confused With Once you know what it is, i5 is hard to miss. Like i1, because it manifests so visibly, so outwardly, its high or low stacking can be quickly spotted, and hard to mistake. However, there are some life domains that it shares influence over with the other intelligences, like reading others and clothing choices, and this can cause confusion. ### Confusion with i2, Aesthetic Intelligence Both i5 and i2 pick up the "vibes" coming off people and can be sensitive to the energy being conveyed by facial expression, tone of voice, body language, etc. However, the difference is that i5 uses this data to inform its own expressions, whereas for i2 it simply has a pleasant or unpleasant aesthetic quality. So, for example, in a conversation where someone is getting "the eyes" from another person, signaling attraction, someone with high i5 will likely naturally modulate the words they use or the body posture they take. However, while someone with high i2 would also pick up the vibe coming off the person's facial expression, and whether they like it or not, but they would not receive instant intuition for how to react to it, instead being drawn to the aesthetics of the face itself. Both of them can also be quite sensitive to outfits and decor. However, the generator function for i2 is what looks good, what is in style, etc, and is less of a focused on what their outfit says about them (besides that they have good style!). i5 on the other hand sees clothing as a costume, and will often go quite deep into developing a personal style that is distinctive and communicates their personality vividly. They may even choose to wear "un-trendy," alternative, or "weird" (i.e. abrasive to strict i2) clothing to enhance their character. When these intelligences are combined however, you get some truly amazing results, like costume and set designers, makeup artists, drag queens, burlesque performers, etc. ### Confusion with i4, Emotional Intelligence Both i5 and i4 are concerned with reading the information coming off people more than any of the other intelligences. However, i5 is more sensitive to what the person is trying to say, if they are being authentic or not, and the dynamics of the overall social interaction over feeling what the other person is feeling. i5 can also communicate great sympathy without actually feeling it (if there is a low i4), whereas i4 can sometimes be feeling it but not be able to communicate it (if low i5). i4 is less interested in the social performance of it all and more about the inner resonance happening with the other person. It is less interested in the things said and the skill of the communication and more on the depth of the feelings conveyed, and if the emotions are seeming to align or not. i4 is also less interested in masking itself or changing its external presentation than i5 is, which is characteristically mercurial and adaptive, attempting to match the affect of the other person so as to be heard. High stacked, raw i4 is notorious for being unable to mask its inner feelings outwardly - this can be appreciated for its authenticity / vulnerability by some, or be considered overly emotional / being a bleeding heart by others. # Archetype Resonances Coming soon!
