# Parable of the Flower
Metaphor for how we are getting hypnotized by our media to stay in a lower stage of development as discussed in this memo : [[🎙️ · Flavor vs. Nutrition · 2-6-24]]
**Excerpt**:
For example, a flower, a flower, what is a flower, a flower is this is this thing. It has a scent, it has this pretty, you know these pretty petals and it has this very strong smell right? What is it supposed to do? It's supposed to attract pollinators, so bees or birds to come and to pollinate it so that it can pollinate itself. It needs to it can't reproduce itself. So it needs to be pollinated and needs to have pollen come into it. So that it can basically be impregnated and create a fruit. And so it basically attracts a bee who has the pollen on its legs to come and pollinate or a bird who has on his beads to come upon it. And once it gets pollinated, the flower dies the flower flower goes away. And what happens is a fruit is formed and a fruit is very similar. Fruit is basically supposed to be attractive if they have these bright colors. They also exude a smell. They the tree puts in a ton of resources into this fruit a ton of water right which it could be putting into itself that sugars which are which are energy intensive sugars is energy, right? That's actually what our body is. Like running off right is some form of glucose or sugar. ATP, right like it's an actual glucose is a form of energy. It turns in energy. So this plant is actually putting lifeforce it's putting real lifeforce like as it is putting prana essentially into this fruit such that another beam will come and eat it be attracted to it come and eat it, so that then when it shuts out the seeds or when it spits out the seed, it'll create a new plant. So it's essentially making a it's making essentially a trade. It's saying, I'll put some of my lifeforce into this fruit. I'll make it really sexy and attractive, so that it provides something of value to someone else so that it will help me propagate and it will create more of my my kind which, which is you know, kind of what we're trying to do and keeps nature going and keeps the ecosystem going. So the beauty is actually only a secondary characteristic to the thing that really needs to happen which is reproduction. Think about the same thing for women. Women are pretty in the young ages. They also right women are put in these young ages like a flower because it's meant to attract men who can't reproduce on their own men can't reproduce on their own. They need to be with a woman to reproduce and the woman can't just raise the child alone or shouldn't raise the child alone. The child needs at you know, at the very least to parents, if not actually a full society. Ideally, you'd actually need the full society you can kind of survive physiologically with two parents, or even one parent potentially, but psychologically, you can't actually survive without a full community and you can see the problems we have in our world today because when people are raised by single parents, or by you know, just a insufficient community, really, I mean, we are retarded and in comparison to our ancestors. We don't notice it because all of us are retarded. It's like, you know, all the kids that went to had to go home for COVID they don't come to school and say we're retarded. You know, they don't know that they're socially retarded, but they are socially retarded compared to us who weren't, didn't have that happen to us. We go, Oh, my God, these kids can't make eye contact are way more addicted to their phones. But they don't notice that because that's all they know. We're the same way. Because we're not raised in communities. We don't even notice how socially retarded we are, and how spiritually retarded we are. But we actually are up anyways. the attractiveness of a woman, I suppose to attract a man who is naturally incentivized to kind of look at a bunch of different options and try to, you know, be with all these different girls. It's like the attractiveness of a woman pulls the man in and says, Look, I want to be with this guy. The sexiness of a woman all that sort of stuff leads to sex. And sex is only it feels good because it leads to you know, the child and then the attractiveness of the woman and the love that's felt for the woman is supposed to keep this couple together as they raise the child and provide a stable family. So in the same way a flower has this attractive appearance. But then it transitions into a fruit and then the fruit transition to a seed and then that seed has to grow. Right it's it like there's these different levels. There's these different phases, but we as a culture are getting basically what happened is like with mass media, the media transmits the most attention grabbing shit, right? And that's what all our algorithms transmit is the most attention grabbing shit. What is the most attention grabbing thing? Right? It's the flower. It's not actually the seed, right? It's the flower. That's the actual attention grabbing bit, but the reason the tree makes the flower is so that it can make a fruit so that it can have the seed. The seed is the thing that's actually important. But the flower is just a way to get to the seed. But the flower is the thing that has all the sensory information. The flower is the thing that has the smell and the color and all this sort of stuff. So we're media, basically just just he's basically just sending out perfume of the flower. Like, we're getting all the nutrients and we're getting all the taste with none of the nutrition like we're looking at all these hot girls, but we're not actually doing anything about it. We have no relationship with them. We just see 300 Hot girls a day, right or we're seeing all these people see basically having a proxy for all these social interactions by looking at TikTok by looking at Instagram by looking at celebrities, but they don't know us, and we don't know them and we're not actually getting the nutrition of the social interaction. Right. It doesn't actually help us that we know their backstory that we know their life that we know their. You know who they are. It doesn't actually help us at all. It's dead information. In our head that doesn't help us and, and all it does is it for that moment. You feel like Oh, I'm with other people. You feel like you have community but you actually don't. When you turn off the phone, it all goes away. And all of his time and energy you just invest it never comes back to you. It's not a circle. Do you see what I'm saying? It's not a cycle. It's a circle. In nature. The energy that gets invested stays within the circle it comes back right the energy the tree puts into this fruit gets makes this other animals eat the fruit which then puts out the seed which then grows a new tree that energy expended. Now propagates to the tree whereas we're basically like we're getting like high off like off like the appearances and never actually go into the process like guys are just going and fucking a bunch of girls and not actually settling down not actually starting the family not actually creating the community, not actually laying roots. You know, I mean, like the media is like fucking with our minds. We're getting like hypnotized into basically the signifiers as opposed to like the thing behind them right and it's it's happened to our food as well. We have foods that basically just hijack our our tastebuds right to tell us that is Oh, it's this nutritious thing. It's really high in sugar. Or it's really high in salt or too high, whatever, which is the scarce resource that we used to need. But the actual but the the actual food has no nutrition like You'll die if you just eat fucking candy all day, but you would prefer to eat candy all day. You'd prefer to eat candy and fast food all day but you'll fucking die if you do that, right in the same way. If you just look at porn, or they are Jack awful, they don't, you'll never actually be able to form a relationship. So it's like this like but that's the thing that the relationship is or the your brain is meant to do is to look for those symbols so that you then invest in a relationship and transition to the next phase of life. So this is why we're getting stuck at level three. And level two is because our media think about it if you post if you post a two hour long conversation of two friends talking and it's it shows this really great insight into their deeper relationship. No one's gonna fucking watch that but if you show a 15 minute clip or a 15 second clip sorry, of ice by shaking her ass that's gonna get like 100 You know fucking viewed or million views or whatever, right? Because it's like this like high stimulation thing that everyone can like, Watch and like it just hijacks you, but do you see what I'm saying? Like we're just going to hypnotize we're going to mesmerized and the format of the media is fucking with us. Like the actual format of the algorithms and the media like it's fucking with us. You know mean and it's tricking us and we're getting like lost and the thing is that you by being in Israel by being in a in a communal place, like I went to the fucking beach I saw no one on their phone. That's really rare. In today's day and age, like, you don't care about the celebrity ship because you have the real thing. You have the girl you have the friends, you have the ability to express yourself yourself your own emotions through music, which is always going to mean more to you. The most important songs to me are the ones that are the most similar to my experience like the Travis songs that are similar to my experience, the oh seven Oh shake songs that feel like I wrote them the lancy folk songs where he sang my shit, but I would think about how much more impactful if it would be if I had the ability to make that music. Do you know what I mean? And if I had the ability to express myself through that music, it would be even more impactful to me, right?
